Happy! Happy Holidays!

So it's been a couple of weeks now and I haven't posted a thing. Yikes :| I'll have more to share, especially after the holiday craziness is over, but for now I finally finished knitting my sister's fingerless gloves. After trying them on, I think I want to knit a pair for myself :)

So the real reason why I haven't posted in a while is because I've gotten into this knitting thing lately–I call an addiction. So far I've been knitting scarves, neck warmers, fingerless gloves and a beanie with ear flaps (well, right now I can only call it a beanie sans earflaps. Still trying to figure out how to finish the flaps). I've discovered that knitting really tests your patience. Though I'm still guilty of wanting that instant gratification–as if I could simply pour hot water over instant powder and viola a scarf!–I've come to appreciate the time it takes to create wearable art. What I most love about it and what I find most satisfying is that ,whether it be for yourself, a loved one or a friend, what you knit is something you've created by hand and sooo useful at the end.

My knitting addiction came just in time for the holidays too. Instead of spending $20 a person, I buy yarn–on sale, of course, and thank goodness my sister doesn't read my blog– for $3-$4 a skein and behold a pair of fingerless gloves! The price doesn't include labor, but when it comes to creating things for friends/family it's a labor of love. Plus, I'm the type that can't keep still, so knitting fills that void when I'm utterly bored out of my mind :)

So next post, I'll show you guys the gloves I made my boyfriend, little cozies I sewed for my friends and ,why not, a picture of our Christmas tree, as well.

Happy Holidays everyone!
